Here are my credentials
Here's where I demonstrate and apply my skills and knowledge in the real world.
Honeywell Aerospace
May 2022 to August 2022
Phoenix, Arizona
The role of a manufacturing engineer in an additive facility is to understand how the manufacturing process works, how to leverage its unique abilities, and what its limitations are. Much of the engineering work is spent on optimizing part designs for additive manufacturing and facilitating conversations about concerns or opportunities related to additive manufacturing for the program. I managed the manufacturing and development of several parts, as well as designing tooling fixtures optimized for additive to aid experimental process development. I also created a process map capturing the operational flow of the metal additive process to highlight potential process improvements and provide realistic manufacturing capabilities for customers and new hires.
Purdue Lunabotics
June 2022 to May 2023
West Lafayette, Indiana
My role as the Systems Lead for a university robotics club was to develop and maintain the processes that allowed the team to function optimally. I developed a standardized process for creating and managing system requirements which integrated systems engineering with our design process. I introduced the “Design for X” engineering approval process to simplify and clarify the verification of parts and assemblies, which allowed us to reduce manufacturing rework and scrap. To help with purchasing, I constructed a simplified part procurement system and automated the order BOM streamlining logistics. I also established a centralized Wiki to encourage sharing knowledge and establishing best practices from lessons learned.
Honeywell Aerospace
August 2021 to December 2021
Tempe, Arizona
While most of my work consisted of gathering quotes, overseeing test campaigns, and redistributing work to make sure tests get completed, I took on several projects to make process improvements. From previous experience, I designed test fixtures to reduce the overall cycle time of tests. I also spearheaded the organization of test equipment, improving the quality of work for technicians and reducing overall test cycle time and cost. In addition, I initiated efforts to build a more comprehensive test management system for the lab engineering team to better monitor test progress and facility capacity.
Purdue Lunabotics
September 2020 to May 2022
West Lafayette, Indiana
As part of the operations team, I assisted in the development and revision of team documentation standards for smoother data collection and operations. I enforced compliance with team manufacturing and documentation standards to ensure quality work and safety while verifying team designs with the NASA RMC: Lunabotics Competition requirements to prevent costly rework or disqualification. Leading efforts to formalize an improved project management system, I worked to organize the team workflow and improve the overall team efficiency.
Collins Aerospace: Internship
July 2019 to August 2019
Wilsonville, Oregon
The major project I undertook was documenting existing tooling fixtures to improve transparency and traceability. I also reworked and designed new tooling fixtures improving product assembly line efficiency. As part of the internship, I learned about the inner workings of the corporate environment and became familiar with GD&T and Solidworks. Towards the end of this experience, I coordinated the rewriting and facilitated the execution of bottlenecked manufacturing processes to streamline production.
THPRD: Part-time employee
March 2018 to March 2020
Portland, Oregon
I created lesson plans and taught children aquatics skills, demonstrating the high quality of facility services to customers At the end of each session, I filled out report cards and reflected on their performance. When not teaching, I answered customer questions and explained to parents about their children’s performance to maintain customer satisfaction with the facility and its services. When on duty as a lifeguard, I surveilled the facility and tended to first aid incidents to ensure the safety of customers.
Boy Scouts of America: Troop 605
September 2018 to June 2019
Oregon, United States
As a senior member of my troop, I helped out younger scouts with their advancement, duties, and behaviors. To maintain troop operations and quality, I coordinated weekly troop meetings and monthly leadership planning meetings. After the previous Senior Patrol Leader’s resignation due to abuse allegations, I instilled servant leadership models across youth leadership to recover the youth leadership’s and troop’s reputation. I then established transparency protocols and facilitated open discussions to rebuild trust in the youth leadership among adult leaders, parents, and other scouts. I also spearheaded modernization efforts of the troop website, documentation, and leadership structure.
Some good old structured learning from accredited institutions and individuals to build my foundations and get the ball rolling.
